Polish Apache Initiative Takes Flight: V Corps Boosts NATO Unity

In a significant boost to security cooperation and NATO interoperability, V Corps has launched the Polish Apache Initiative in collaboration with the Polish military. V Corps, The Army's only forward deployed warfighting headquarters, set the stage for aviation integration by conducting a Polish Apache Initiative summit designed to meet interoperability and training objectives between Polish and NATO aviation units. The summit, starting on 6 August, focused on educating organizational leaders on AH-64 organizations, combat tactics and maintenance consideration during the two-day event in Inowroclaw. The initiative comprises three main components: the Apache Initiative Summits, Apprenticeships, and Partnership Exercises.

Squad from V Corps Prepares for Upcoming USAREUR-AF Best Squad Competition

“He’s slowing down.” A squad of five 2nd Cavalry Regiment Soldiers watched their last member race around the railhead at Rose Barracks. The sun was unusually aggressive for so early in the morning, and, weighted down in full “battle rattle,” the Soldier’s pace was indeed slowing. Covered in sweat, with his own heart rate still dropping from finishing an intense workout, the squad’s leader, U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Jordan Behr, raced out to meet his Soldier and cheer him on.

V Corps Soldiers Complete the Nijmegen March

V Corps Soldiers participated in the Nijmegen March, popularly known as the 4Days March, or Vierdaagse, in Nijmegen, Netherlands from July 16 to July 20, 2024. The V Corps headquarters team prepared for more than six months to complete the grueling event, which consisted of walking approximately 25 miles per day for four days straight. The marching event dates back to 1909, but is also connected to the history of World War II in the Nijmegen area.

V Corps Sends Soldier Support to Nijmegen March

The Nijmegen March, known as “Vierdaagse,” is the world’s largest multiple-day marching event. This year, V Corps provided essential life support, including medical and logistical elements, to ensure the safety and well-being of military participants from the 2nd Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, and V Corps as they navigated the grueling 30 to 50 kilometers per day.
