GRAFENWOEHR, Germany – U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Isabella Nelson won the V Corps Army Career Counselor of the Year Competition at Grafenwoehr, Germany, Jan. 16, 2025. Army career counselors from across V Corps gathered to participate in the 2025 Career Counselor of the Year competition. Soldiers competed in an array of events, including the Army Combat Fitness Test, a Soldier knowledge and appearance board, a mystery event and a written exam.

Fifth European High Mobility Artillery Rocket System Initiative

TALLINN, Estonia– U.S. Army’s V Corps, in collaboration with Estonian Defense Forces, hosted the fifth European High Mobility Artillery Rocket System Initiative in Tallinn, Estonia, Jan. 15-16, 2024. The EHI summits aim to reinforce NATO partnerships through a comprehensive review of lessons learned from the war in Ukraine. They are designed to be a scalable and tailored approach to educating military leaders, mentoring operators, and sharing lessons on sustaining HIMARS and associated equipment. As the need and concern for collective security within Eastern Europe continue to mount, representatives from more than 15 nations attended the summit with the focus of continuing to increase their HIMARS capability.

U.S. Army soldiers from Task Force Voit joined Estonian Armed Forces and NATO allies participating in the Estonian War of Independence ceasefire remembrance ceremony on Jan. 3, 2025. U.S. Army Soldiers of Task Force Voit participated in a ceremony in remembrance of the Estonian War of Independence with the signing of the Treaty of Tartu on Jan. 2, 1920. The war began in 1918 following the collapse of the Russian Empire, when newly independent Estonia was invaded by Russian forces. The town of Narva played a pivotal role as one of the first targets of the conflict.
