Former V Corps Commander retires in Fort Knox

FORT KNOX, Ky. — U.S. Army V Corps hosted a retirement ceremony for former commanding general Lt. Gen. John S. Kolasheski at V Corps headquarters in Fort Knox, Kentucky, Friday.

‘It Was Done’: V Corps ‘original plank holder’ concludes career in ancestral homeland

POZNAN, Poland — The final mission of Lt. Gen. John S. Kolasheski’s distinguished career was a doozy. He organized, trained, equipped, deployed, and commanded a storied Army formation amid smoldering international tensions and the highest of stakes for regional security. Fittingly, the “Victory Corps,” its Soldiers and its commanding general all returned to their roots in the process.

Meet the woman who is helping staff the U.S. Army’s newest corps

FORT KNOX, KY — “It’s about taking care of Soldiers,” said Clemente, an Indio, California, native. “The day I come in and I’m not about taking care of Soldiers, is the day I need to leave.” This philosophy is not new. It’s a common belief among many, if not all, of the great leaders in the U.S. Army. It’s a belief that the smallest act of kindness can create waves of change for the betterment of the Army, the Department of Defense and the Nation. And anyone in a leadership role, whether they are a commanding general or a new corporal, can practice it. However, some may never realize the impact they are making on their organization or to the people who look up to them.
