Command Sergeant Major

Command Sgt. Maj. Philip B. Blaisdell

Command Sgt. Maj. Philip Blaisdell enlisted in the United States Army in November 1992 and attended One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning, Georgia, where he trained as an Infantryman. CSM Blaisdell has served in every position from Rifleman to Command Sergeant Major.

His assignments include 1st Battalion, 509th Parachute Infantry Regiment, Fort Polk, Louisiana; 503rd Infantry Regiment, Camp Casey, Korea; 2nd Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; 4th Ranger TRNG BN, ABN Ranger TRNG BDE, Fort Benning, Georgia; 1st Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 101st ABN DIV (AASLT), Fort Campbell, Kentucky; First Sergeant, HHC 1-507th, Parachute Infantry Regiment, Fort Benning, Georgia; 3-509th Airborne Infantry Regiment, JBER, 2nd Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 10th MTN (LI) DIV, Fort Drum, New York; 3rd Battalion, 13th Infantry, Fort Jackson, South Carolina; CSM, Leader Training Brigade, Fort Jackson, South Carolina; G-3/5/7 SGM, United States Army Pacific Command, Fort Shafter, Hawaii; CSM for U.S. Army Alaska, JBER, AK, HQDA G-3/5/7 SGM, Washington D.C, and is now serving as the Command Sergeant Major for U.S. Army V Corps.  

CSM Blaisdell's military education includes all levels of the Noncommissioned Officer Education System and United States Army Sergeants Major Academy (Class 63). CSM Blaisdell is a graduate of the First Sergeant Course, Air Assault School, Combat Lifesaver Course, Emergency Medical Technician Course, Pre-Ranger Course, U.S. Army Ranger School, Jumpmaster School, Nominative Leaders Course, and the Keystone Course.  

CSM Blaisdell's military awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit (3 OLC), Bronze Star Medal (V-device/3 OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (3 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (4 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (4 OLC), Good Conduct Medal (8th award), National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Star, Kosovo Campaign Medal with Bronze Star, Iraq Campaign Medal (3 CS), Afghanistan Campaign Medal (1 CS), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 5), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 5), NATO Medal, Multinational Force and Observers Medal, Army Valorous Unit Award, Army Meritorious Unit Commendation (1 OLC), Ranger Tab, Expert Infantryman Badge, Combat Infantryman Badge (2nd Award), Basic, Master Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, Bronze German Schutzenschnur Badge, and German Parachutist Badge. He is a recipient of the Order of Saint Maurice (Centurion) Medal and has been inducted as a Distinguished and Honorary member of the 502nd Infantry Regiment. 

CSM Blaisdell is married to Lea Blaisdell and together they have two children. CSM Blaisdell’s son is also currently serving as a sergeant in the U.S. Army.
